From Oct. 12 to 15, Ven. Hwi-kwang, the Zen Master of Bulkwang Zen Center in New York, taught meditation program to locals at Borisa Temple in Barcelona Spain.

From early dawn, the schedule was packed with 108 prostrations, chanting the Thousand Hand Sutra in Korean and the name of Avalokitesvara, praying and meditating. About thirty locals participated in the program from which they found bliss.

The meditation program at Barcelona which marks its second consecutive year of hosting will be continued on annually as the interest and demand of the locals persist.

▶뉴욕 불광선원 휘광스님, 스페인에서 명상 지도하며 현지인 포교

불광선원 회주 휘광스님은 10월 12일부터 15일까지 스페인 바르셀로나 피레네 산맥 깊숙한 곳에 위치한 보리사에서 현지인들을 상대로 명상 프로그램을 진행했다.

매일 새벽부터 108배와 한국어로 진행되는 천수경, 관세음보살 정근 등의 기도를 한 후 명상 지도와 함께 개인 상담 등 빡빡한 일정을 진행했는데 현지인 30여 명이 동참하며 환희심에 찬 소중한 시간을 가졌다.

올해 두 번째로 진행된 바르셀로나 명상 프로그램은 현지인들의 열렬한 성화에 앞으로도 꾸준히 해마다 진행될 예정이다. 글-뉴욕 불광선원 성화스님
